Un-Schooling
From Our Home to Yours
As a mama to three girls, my number one priority has always been to make sure my children are getting their educational needs met. Through the years, I have found that when it comes to their education, it is up to me to provide them with experiences and opportunities they were not going to receive in the public education setting. As a result, my husband and I took it upon ourselves to provide our girls with the skills, hands-on experiences, and knowledge they could use daily in the real world.
In our home, we prioritize the educational philosophy of "learning by doing." You'll frequently find my girls learning through creating and doing. That could include cooking, painting, raising baby animals, hands-on projects around the home, or taking self-defense classes. We also allow our girls to discover real-world economics through daily experiences, transactions, and, of course, trial and error.
This is the basis of everything we do is to ultimately nourish their purpose.
Each of my girls is unique and has their own passions. As parents, we nourish their passions and purpose by amplifying their skills and interests to set them up for success ultimately. Our firstborn is interested in movement and activities that keep one's body healthy and build strength. You'll find her living out her name, "God's Gift," by pouring her knowledge specifically into young adults. Very shortly, she will impact our community by motivating young adults to become healthy through playful activities that benefit their stamina and overall well-being. Another daughter, our strong and beautiful "Lioness of God," is deeply interested in connecting with others by leading them to discover their own creativity. As a result, we empower her to bring value (monetize her talents) as she teaches others how to do this very thing through selling her own creations. Our youngest daughter is "God's promise to come to live." She innately knows how to love others through her grounded intuition. In fact, she can connect with all animals, and she has the ability even to train chickens. As she nurtures and loves them, she sees the outpouring of blessings they offer and can bless others with their products, such as organic eggs. By default, this has enabled her to discover the fantastic world of entrepreneurship. It's truly amazing to watch your children grow and shine when they bloom in areas in life that fill their souls.
